Pines Treatment Center

The Pines Treatment Center is located in Portsmouth Virginia and offers programs for children and adults ranging in age from 4 to 21. This treatment center has a variety of different options which we will learn more about in this article. First is the Behavioral Study Program for Boys. This program is designed to work with males between the ages of 11 and 21 who are sexual offenders. On the same campus as this program is Project Right Track. This program is made for mentally ill or developmentally disabled males between the ages of 12 and 20 who are sexually abusive. The campus housing these two programs is called the Brighton Campus.

Crawford Campus houses a much larger range of programs, such as the Adolescent Treatment and Recovery Center. This program is for males aged 16 to 19 struggling with substance abuse, chemical dependency and/or mental illness. Also on this campus is the Behavioral Studies Program for Girls. This program works with girls between the ages of 12 and 17 who not only engage in in abusive sexual behavior but also may have issues of being bipolar, antisocial, narcissistic or borderline in personality. On this campus also is the Cooperative Living Program which is for youths who have shown the ability to handle more mature and independent responsibilities.

Other programs on Crawford Campus include Substance Abuse Recovery for boys and girls, Visions, Wings, The Young Women's Center and the Young Men's Center. All of these programs are designed for troubled youth who may be dealing with both defiant behavior and mental illness. When you go for a consultation at this center you will be taught more about the individual programs and which one is appropriate for your child, unless of course that decision is made by a doctor or judge.

On the Kempsville Campus of the Pines Treatment Center are three facilties. They are The Child Program, The Young Adolescent Program and the Adolescent Program. These programs work with younger children dealing with physical and mental disabilities. As mentioned before, you should of course work closely with your pediatrician when considering any kind of treatment center such as the Pines for your child. With all the available campuses and programs there is likely the ideal solution no matter what problem your child is struggling with.
